Matthew 1: 18-23

  • 18 ) Now the birth of Jesus Christ was likewise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

  • 19 ) Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privately.

  • 20 ) But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, you son of David, fear not to take unto you Mary your wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

  • 21 ) And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

  • 22 ) Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

  • 23 ) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

  • 18 ) എന്നാൽ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ജനനം ഈ വണ്ണം ആയിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ അമ്മയായ മറിയ യോസേഫിന്നു വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെട്ടശേഷം അവർ കൂടിവരുമ്മുമ്പെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ ഗർഭിണിയായി എന്നു കണ്ടു.

  • 19 ) അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവായ യോസേഫ് നീതിമാനാകകൊണ്ടും അവൾക്കു ലോകാപവാദം വരുത്തുവാൻ അവന്നു മനസ്സില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടും അവളെ ഗൂഢമായി ഉപേക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.

  • 20 ) ഇങ്ങനെ നിനെച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ അവന്നു സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി: ദാവീദിന്റെ മകനായ യോസേഫേ, നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ മറിയയെ ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ ശങ്കിക്കേണ്ടാ, അവളിൽ ഉല്പാദിതമായതു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ ആകുന്നു.

  • 21 ) അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും, അവൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു രക്ഷിപ്പാനിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു നീ അവന്നു യേശു എന്നു പേർ ഇടേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

  • 22 ) “കന്യക ഗർഭിണിയായി ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും. അവന്നു ദൈവം നമ്മോടുകൂടെ എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള ഇമ്മാനൂവേൽ എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്കും”

  • 23 ) എന്നു കർത്താവു പ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാൻ ഇതൊക്കെയും സംഭവിച്ചു.
